Umair Jaswal is a young, rock icon that hails from Islamabad, Pakistan. Once the frontman of rock-ensemble, Qayaas, Jaswal has been pushing the limits of Pakistani rock music to create a niche of his own. A multi-award winning rock musician, Jaswal’s ability to belt out powerful ditties is just as impactful as the deep, husky texture of his musical whispers.
After debuting on Coke Studio, Season 5 with Atif Aslam under the banner of Qayaas, for a prolific version of ‘Charkha Nolakha’, Jaswal returned to Season 6 for experimental-rock song ‘Khayaal’, as a solo artist. The ex-Silversmoke singer began paving the way to create his own undeniably unique niche in the world of Pakistani music.
Jaswal has produced stellar tracks for films such as, ‘Waar’ and ‘Jalebi’ while pushing the brinks of entertainment by appearing in various TV dramas including ‘Mor Mahal’ and made his Lollywood debut with the film ‘Yalghaar’.
A familiar face on Coke Studio, Jaswal performed ‘Sammi Meri Waar’ to much critical acclaim with Quratulain Balouch and followed that up with a power-packed performance alongside Naseebo Lal in Season 9. As Jaswal returns to Season 10, he takes on a bona fide classic with a new twist!
